Where do students, scientists and future land stewards all have a place to call home? The 7 Reserves of UC Santa Barbara Natural Reserve System (NRS)!
The NRS was founded in 1965 to provide undisturbed environments for research, education and public service. Today, they provide unique living laboratories for scientific research, undergraduate and graduate education, and for public outreach including K-12 classes. UCSB’s seven reserves include the two-site Valentine Eastern Sierra Reserves in Mammoth Lakes, Kenneth S. Norris Rancho Marino Reserve in Cambria, Santa Cruz Island Reserve, Sedgwick Reserve located in Santa Ynez, Carpinteria Salt Marsh and Coal Oil Point in Goleta just next to the UCSB campus.
As we celebrate Give Day, please join us in teaching the scientists and environmental stewards of tomorrow by supporting research and teaching in our Reserves! Your gift truly makes a difference.
Thank you Raintree Foundation for your generous gift of $25,000 to Sedgwick!
