Today, you can do something unexpected and extraordinary, something that may surprise you, something that will reconnect you with the UCSB’s dynamic College of Engineering community. It’s a chance for you to have a stake in a more-prosperous future. Because what happens here actually makes a difference in the world.
Breakthroughs and innovations resulting from fundamental science and applied engineering in the College have led to better phones, computers, cars, lighting, airplanes, and TVs. They have accelerated data movement, made life better for those with diabetes, saved tremendous amounts of energy, pointed to new directions in sustainability, caused quantum leaps in brain science, richly enhanced cyber security, and even improved the quality of animated feature films.
Since 2011, our discoveries have led us to rank consistently in the top two public universities worldwide for greatest research impact in engineering, according to the Leiden University Rankings.
To be part of something so extraordinary, give today, and help us shape the future.
Why Give Day?
We need your help to achieve great things. With your support, the College of Engineering will continue to recruit and retain the best and brightest faculty and students, maintain state-of-the-art research facilities, and find comprehensive solutions to hard problems.
How to Help
Every dollar of your support will go toward conducting research and educating engineers who can and do improve the world. Share the news of your gift and let others know what makes UCSB great. You’ll feel extraordinary!
In celebration of 50 years of innovation and research, we are excited to be nearing our $1 million endowment to keep the Undergraduate Rinker Lab at the forefront of science and engineering. Professor Emeritus Robert Rinker was the department's first faculty member and former College of Engineering Associate Dean for Undergraduate Programs. Only $100,000 remains to reach our milestone to modernize the Chemical Engineering teaching lab and instructional facilities in perpetuity.
With your support, we can create a world-class Chemical Engineering lab experience for students. Our goals are to design and construct lab experiments that reinforce fundamental Chemical Engineering principles; expose students to industrially-relevant lab situations and provide practical training on modern, automated equipment; and create a functional, adaptable, and hands-on learning environment that will evolve with the Chemical Engineering profession. We invite you to be part of cultivating excellence in educating the next generation of UCSB Chemical Engineers and problem solvers.
In celebration of UCSB Give Day, we invite you to join the community of supporters of the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department!
The goal of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at UC Santa Barbara has always been to provide our students with the best possible opportunities to learn and develop. The faculty, students, and administration have created an atmosphere of interdisciplinary and collaborative research that is renowned throughout the nation and is the cornerstone of our success.
ECE also operates a number of activities beyond the classroom, including seminars and networking events in order to encourage personal development, technical innovation, and entrepreneurship. Your investment in the ECE department plays a critical role in our ability to fulfill our mission and provides essential support of ECE’s teaching program and research enterprise.
Join us in our campus-wide Give Day and give to ECE - your support will help create the next generation of Gaucho innovators, entrepreneurs, and leaders.
