By working with all sectors of the campus community, we help UC Santa Barbara maintain its leadership and attain its shared vision of a sustainable future through our Edible Campus Program, Carbon Neutrality Initiative, Sustainability Student Internship Fund, and Green Initiative Match Fund.

Pre-College Programs: The Research Mentorship Program and Summer Research Academies
UC Santa Barbara's Research Mentorship Program is a competitive six-week summer program that engages qualified, high-achieving high school students from all over the world in interdisciplinary, hands-on, university-level research. Students will be paired up with a mentor (graduate student, postdoc, or faculty) and choose a research project from a large list of disciplines offered by the program each year.
UC Santa Barbara's Summer Research Academies offer a dynamic summer experience that engages qualified high school students in project-based directed research in STEM, the humanities, and social sciences fields. Students will take a four-unit university course in which they choose and develop a research topic specific to the track they select, under the direction of an instructor who is conducting active research in the field.
Center for Science and Engineering Partnership
CSEP, a one-stop shop for UC Santa Barbara scientists and engineers, designs and evaluates training programs for UCSB students and researchers.
Professional Women's Association
The Barbara S. Uehling Fund, the first female Chancellor of UC Santa Barbara, was established to honor her efforts in advocating for the advancement of women and others from underrepresented backgrounds in higher education. Gifts to this fund support non-traditional students with financial need on their path to achieving their academic and career goals.
Senior Class Gift
We are grateful for the traditions and legacies made possible by senior class gifts. The 24-Hour Study Room at the UCSB Library, Student Safety programs, and Alumni Scholarship funds have all been enhanced by philanthropy from previous classes, and it’s time for the Class of 2025 to leave their legacy.
